The pristine beaches of the Riviera del Conero

The pristine beaches of the Riviera del Conero

Between the green of the Conero Park and the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic stretches a coast where nature dominates unpolluted. Here the cliffs overlooking the sea, hidden coves and paths immersed in the Mediterranean maquis offer unique experiences.

The most fascinating and wild beaches are within walking distance through scenic paths or by sea, starting from the ports of Sirolo or Numana. In this article we will take you to the discovery of these wild corners, where paths wind through oak woods and rocky slopes, offering spectacular viewpoints on the sea and the coast. Some routes require attention, comfortable shoes and a bit of preparation, but the effort is always rewarded by breathtaking landscapes.

Mezzavalle Beach

Continuing along the coast you will find the Spiaggia di Mezzavalle, a wide beach that extends at the foot of the high walls of Monte Conero, maintaining a wild character while being among the most frequented in the area. The beach is composed of fine and clear gravel and smooth pebbles, while the sea takes on shades ranging from emerald green to deep blue.

Reaching it on foot is part of the experience: the path that descends through the Conero Park between holm oaks, pines and Mediterranean scrub, with several panoramic points that allow you to observe the beach from above before arriving at shore. The hike is pleasant, well marked and very appreciated by those who love to walk surrounded by nature, but also requires suitable shoes and a bit of training.

Despite being one of the best known beaches on the Riviera, Mezzavalle retains an authentic character. The limited and discreet services help to preserve the natural atmosphere of the place.

Spiaggia delle Due Sorelle – the symbol of the Conero Riviera

The Spiaggia delle Due Sorelle is the place that more than any other represents the identity of the Riviera del Conero. The two large white sea stacks, which emerge from the sea a short distance from the shore, create an immediately recognizable and striking panorama. Around, the high clear cliffs and the vegetation that descends to the sea contribute to make this stretch of coast one of the most suggestive of the entire Adriatic.

The beach is composed of fine gravel and light pebbles and is completely devoid of services, inserted in a protected natural area. To protect this environment, there are no pedestrian access: the only way to reach it is by sea, with organized excursions or private boats that depart from Sirolo, Numana or Portonovo. The arrival from the sea is an integral part of the experience, because it allows you to admire the coast in its entirety and slowly approach the stacks, with their white color that stands out on the blue of the sea.

Spiaggia dei Sassi Neri

Just north of the beach of San Michele is the Spiaggia dei Sassi Neri, recognizable for its darker pebbles that contrast with the light color of the cliffs and the deep blue of the sea. It is a free beach, wild and without services ideal for those looking for a quiet and relaxed environment.

Sassi Neri beach can be reached from the beach of San Michele walking along the shoreline and following the natural extension of the beach. Alternatively, from the center of Sirolo you can walk the paths that go down to the coast, immersed in the vegetation of the park. Those arriving by sea can enjoy the arrival from the most suggestive point of view, with the cliff reflecting on the water.

Spiaggia dei Gabbiani

More secluded and less known, the Spiaggia dei Gabbiani is a sheltered cove that retains an intimate and quiet character. Surrounded by cliffs and greenery, it is one of the most reserved corners of the Conero Riviera.

At the moment, direct access to the beach is not allowed, but it is still possible to approach by sea in kayak or with organized excursions and admire its beauty from the water, enjoying one of the most suggestive and wild views of the Riviera del Conero.

Visiting the wild beaches of Conero requires some preparation, but the reward is priceless: bring comfortable shoes for any trails, water and snacks, sunscreen and everything you need to live a day immersed in nature.

And for those who want to explore the Conero with calm and comfort, the Camping Village Internazionale Sirolo is the ideal base. Its location allows you to easily reach trails, beaches and starting points for boat excursions, offering a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere on your return. A perfect starting point to discover, day after day, the most authentic and natural side of the Conero Riviera.
