The Conero Park by e-bike: routes between sea and nature
Exploring the Conero Park by e-bike is a practical choice even before it is a scenic one. The area is compact but not flat: there are short but frequent climbs, roads surrounded by greenery and routes which, if chosen wisely, allow you to avoid traffic and cycle safely.
Starting from Sirolo, you can create a wide variety of routes, combining minor roads, cycle and footpaths, and trails within the park. In this article, we suggest three such routes, all suitable for e-bikes, well-balanced and suitable for different fitness levels.
From the countryside to the mouth of the Musone river
This is the simplest and most straightforward route, ideal for a first outing or for those looking for a ride without any technical difficulties.
From Camping Village Internazionale Sirolo, you can reach Numana by bike, avoiding the provincial road and using the internal secondary roads. When the inhabited area has been overcome the route enters the countryside: the surface is mainly tarmac, with a few compact dirt sections, all of which are easy to cycle on.
The stretch near the “Le Terrazze” farm is one of the most distinctive landmarks along the route. Here, the landscape is open and agricultural, with vineyards and cultivated fields accompanying the ride without any significant changes in gradient.
Continuing towards the coast, the route gradually flattens out until it reaches the mouth of the Musone River. The area is spacious and less built-up, with a more natural surrounding environment.
Route length: 18 kilometres
Elevation gain: approximately 130 metres
Difficulty: low, there are no strenuous climbs or technical sections, making it suitable for those with little experience or who are looking for a short, gentle route.
Trails in Conero Park

For those who truly want to cycle through Conero Park, this route is one of the most interesting and representative, as it allows you to reach the top of the Conero mountain via forested trails, far from busy roads.
Starting from Sirolo, take trail 302, one of the main access points to the park's hiking network. The surface quickly becomes natural: compact dirt road, gravel sections, and some more uneven sections, all manageable on an e-bike with a minimum of experience.
Along the route, you can take a short detour on foot to Passo del Lupo, one of Monte Conero’s most famous vantage points. The view of the coast is spectacular and is certainly worth a stop.
To continue towards the top, carry on to the junction with path 301, where you turn left (westwards). From here, take path 305, which leads to Pian di Raggetti, one of the main hubs of the park’s trails.
Once you reach Pian di Raggetti, head east again, following the signs for trail 301, which leads to the highest point of Monte Conero. Here you will find the former Camaldolese monastery and the Belvedere Sud viewpoint, offering a sweeping and picturesque view of the sea.
The route is varied, with some challenging climbs and easier sections: this is precisely why an e-bike is an excellent companion for managing the effort and enjoying the experience to the full.
Overall, this is an ideal route for those who want to discover the most authentic and natural side of the Conero, offering a more technical and immersive experience than routes on tarmac.
Route length: approximately 20 kilometres
Elevation gain: between 250 and 550 metres
Difficulty: moderate
From Sirolo to Portonovo and on to Ancona
This is one of the most iconic routes in the area, ideal for those wishing to cycle to Portonovo on an e-bike from Sirolo. Contrary to what one might think, the route does not follow paths within the park, but mainly follows the Conero provincial road, which connects the two points directly.
You set off from Sirolo and follow the park road towards Portonovo: the surface is entirely asphalted, but the route is far from flat. Climbs and descents alternate continuously, making the route quite challenging, especially on the steeper sections.
The down hill towards Portonovo is one of the most enjoyable parts of the route, offering panoramic views of the sea. However, it is worth bearing in mind that on the way back, this stretch becomes a significant climb, requiring you to make good use of your e-bike’s assistance.
The arrival in Portonovo in the most picturesque bays on the Conero Riviera is nestled between the mountain and the sea.
For those wishing to continue, from Portonovo it is possible to head towards Ancona, specifically to the Passetto area, using the Portonovo - Ancona cycle and footpath. This section is also suitable for e-bikes and is designed for a more leisurely and scenic ride.
Route length: approximately 20 kilometres for the round trip returning from Portonovo, over 40 kilometres if continuing on to Ancona.
Elevation gain: between 100 and 500 metres
Difficulty: moderately challenging, due to the climbs and the ascent from Portonovo.
Useful information before setting off

The trails in Conero Park are generally well connected, but it is advisable to set off with a GPS track, especially for routes within the park. E-bikes make it easy to tackle the elevation gain, but it is always important to keep an eye on the battery, particularly on longer routes or those with frequent climbs.
The secondary roads between Sirolo and Numana are best for avoiding traffic, and during the summer months it is best to set off early in the morning or in the late afternoon.
For detailed information on the network of trails, regulations and areas accessible by bike, it is always useful to consult the official Conero Park website, where updates and comprehensive information on the routes are available.
Cycling through the Conero Park on an e-bike means exploring a diverse landscape without having to travel by car. In just a few kilometres, you can go from the countryside to the coast and on to woodland trails, with the option of choosing a different route every day, easily adapting it to your own ability.
Staying at Camping Village Internazionale in Sirolo makes all this even easier: you can set off straight away on your bike, with no need to move far, and there are various routes accessible from the very first few kilometres. You can also hire e-bikes on site, a practical solution for those not travelling with their own bike, and there are dedicated charging points available.
A practical solution for those who want to experience the Conero actively, with the freedom to organise each day at their own pace.
